DENTAL EMERGENCY? CALL US FIRST

Emergency dentist

Same-day care. A familiar face. Even after hours.

A toothache that woke you at 3 a.m. A crown that came off at lunch. A tooth that met a fork the wrong way. When it happens, you want your own dentist - someone who knows you - not a stranger, and not a call center.

At Pore Dental, same-day emergency appointments are always available. Call your office and we will get you in. After hours, please text Dr. Pore at (951) 595-7284 and he will get back to you as soon as he can.

EMERGENCIES

When it hurts, you get Dr. Pore. Not an answering service.

Most dental offices route after-hours calls to an answering service or a recorded line. Here, your after-hours text reaches Dr. Pore himself: text (951) 595-7284. If he can't reply right away, he will get back to you as soon as he can.

We are an independent, doctor-owned practice - not a corporate chain. You see the same dentist every visit, and in an emergency that matters: Dr. Pore knows your history, your X-rays and your smile.

EMERGENCIES

Is it a real emergency? An honest answer.

Call us right away: a severe or throbbing toothache; a knocked-out tooth; a broken or cracked tooth; swelling in your gum, jaw or face; a lost crown or filling that hurts.

Go to the ER first: bleeding that won't stop with firm pressure; facial swelling that affects your breathing or swallowing; a broken jaw or a serious injury to your face. The ER can manage pain, bleeding and infection - but hospitals don't treat teeth. Call us as soon as you're safe, and we'll take it from there.

It can probably wait until morning: a small chip with no pain, mild sensitivity, or a lost filling that doesn't hurt. Still call us - we'll decide together, and fit you in promptly.

EMERGENCIES

What to do right now.

  1. Knocked-out tooth

Hold it by the crown (the white part), not the root. Rinse it gently if it's dirty - don't scrub. Try to place it back in the socket, or keep it in a small container of milk. Then call immediately - the best chance of saving it is within the hour.

  2. Toothache

Rinse with warm water. A cold compress on the outside of your cheek helps with swelling. Over-the-counter pain relief, following the package directions, can take the edge off - never place aspirin directly on the gum.

  3. Broken or cracked tooth

Rinse your mouth with warm water and save any pieces you can find. A cold compress helps if your face is swelling.

  4. Lost crown or filling

Keep the crown safe and bring it with you - it can often be re-cemented. Temporary dental cement from a pharmacy can protect the tooth until your visit.

EMERGENCIES

What happens when you call.

  1. Call your office

Temecula or Murrieta. Tell us what happened and how much it hurts, and we'll tell you what to do right away. If our office is closed, please text Dr. Pore at (951) 595-7284. If he can't reply right away, he will get back to you as soon as he can.

  2. Come in the same day

Same-day emergency appointments are always available - call as early as you can.

  3. Dr. Pore finds the problem

An exam and X-rays, explained in plain English, with time for your questions.

  4. Relief first, then a written plan

The first goal is getting you comfortable. After that, you'll see your exact fee in writing before anything further starts.

GOOD TO KNOW

Questions are always welcome

Do you really see emergencies the same day?+

Yes. Same-day emergency appointments are always available at both offices. Call as early in the day as you can, and we'll fit you in.

What if it happens at night or on the weekend?+

Text Dr. Pore at (951) 595-7284 with your name and what's going on. If he can't reply right away, he will get back to you as soon as he can. For bleeding that won't stop or swelling that affects your breathing or swallowing, go to the ER first.

I'm not a patient of Pore Dental. Can you still help?+

If you're not a patient of ours yet, call anyway - we'll do our very best to get you seen and out of pain. Dental emergencies don't check whether you've been here before.

Should I go to the ER or call you?+

Go to the ER for bleeding that won't stop with pressure, facial swelling that affects your breathing or swallowing, or a serious facial injury. For anything else - toothaches, broken teeth, lost crowns - call us first. The ER can manage pain and infection, but it can't fix a tooth.

I'm nervous - will it hurt?+

It's completely understandable to feel anxious, especially when you're already in pain. The first thing we do is get you comfortable. Tell Dr. Pore what worries you, and he'll explain each step before it happens.

How much does an emergency visit cost?+

Fair, competitive pricing - and you'll see your exact fee in writing before anything starts. No surprises, ever. You'll get a written, itemized estimate before any treatment beyond the exam, and we offer CareCredit financing and price matching.

What should I do for a knocked-out tooth before I get there?+

Hold it by the crown, rinse it gently, and place it back in the socket or in a small container of milk. Then call immediately - the sooner you're in the chair, the better the chance of saving it.

In pain right now? Call.
