NEW PATIENTS

Your first visit, a little less unfamiliar.

A new dentist means new faces and a few questions. Let's make the first step feel easier.

Whether you're keeping up with regular care, coming back after some time away, or looking for help with a concern, you're welcome at Pore Dental. Start with the office that works best for you: Temecula or Murrieta.

BEFORE YOUR VISIT

Before your visit

Tell us what brings you in.

Is something bothering you? Are you interested in a particular treatment? Has it been a while since your last visit? Let our office know when you book, including anything that makes dental visits difficult for you. You don't need to have all the answers before reaching out.

Your history helps us understand you.

We'll send your dental history and medical history forms online, by text or email, whichever you prefer. These forms are detailed. They cover your concerns, symptoms and problems, along with your dental and medical history, so your dentist can understand more than just the reason you booked. Take time to complete them before your visit. They're a way to tell us what you've been experiencing and what matters to you, so those details can be part of the conversation about your care.

Bring the basics.

Bring your insurance card, if you have one, and a list of your current medications.

Questions about insurance?

You can text a photo of your insurance card to our office. Choose the office where you plan to receive care so your information reaches the right team. If you have questions about your plan, get in touch before your visit.

STEP BY STEP

What happens when you walk in

Warm welcome

A friendly welcome from our team at the front desk. If you've filled out your history forms ahead of time, you're already a step ahead.

Tell us what brings you in

Before anything else, we listen. Your concern, your questions, and anything that makes the dentist feel hard for you. Nobody rushes this part.

X-rays and a thorough exam

We take the X-rays needed to see the full picture, then do an unhurried exam. We'll show you what we see as we go, in plain language.

An honest conversation

We talk through what we found and the options that make sense for you, including doing nothing right now when that's reasonable. If something needs a specialist, we'll refer you to one and explain why. No pressure.

Your fee, in writing, first

Fair, competitive pricing - and you'll see your exact fee in writing before anything starts. No surprises, ever.

Insurance handled for you

Many of our patients have PPO plans from Delta Dental, MetLife, Aetna, Cigna or Guardian, to name a few. Not on the list? There's a good chance we're in-network - call to confirm. Our team checks your benefits before your visit.

GOOD TO KNOW

A few things people ask us

How long will it take?

A first visit is longer than a regular check-up, because we take the time to listen, take X-rays and do a careful exam. We never rush it. When you book, ask the office how much time to set aside.

Families are welcome.

We are a family practice. Bring your family and book visits together if that makes life easier. Tell the office who is coming when you book so we can plan the time.

DURING YOUR VISIT

During your visit

Start with what's important to you.

Your concerns belong in the conversation, whether that's a sensitive tooth, a change in your smile, or feeling nervous about treatment. Your first visit includes a dental exam and the X-rays needed to understand your oral health and the concern that brought you in. From there, we'll talk about what we find and what may help.

What about a cleaning?

We understand you may hope to have a cleaning at your first visit. Your exam comes first, so we can understand your needs. A cleaning may be considered only if no other problems are found. We'll explain the findings and next steps with you.

Know what comes next.

If treatment is recommended, we'll explain the options, the next steps and the estimated costs before you decide how to move forward. Ask questions along the way.

AFTER YOUR VISIT

After your visit

Keep the next step clear.

Before you leave, we'll go over any next steps, including follow-up appointments and instructions for care at home if you had treatment. If a question comes up later, contact the office where you were seen.

Need help with an urgent dental concern?

An urgent visit has a different focus from a routine first visit. Contact your preferred office and tell the team what's happening, including any pain, swelling, injury or broken tooth. We'll help you arrange a visit focused on the problem and explain what can be done next. If you're experiencing a medical emergency, call 911.
