Veneers and Lumineers
Your smile. Dr. Pore's personal care.
Dr. Pore learned Lumineers from the man who invented them - hands-on training with Dr. Robert Ibsen at his Santa Maria studio, where Dr. Ibsen himself demonstrated on live patients.
Whether you are thinking about a small change or a different look for your smile, begin with a free veneer consultation. Talk through your goals with Dr. Pore himself, at a doctor-owned practice where you see the same dentist every visit.
Fair, competitive pricing - and you'll see your exact fee in writing before anything starts. No surprises, ever.
A personal connection. A familiar dentist.
Maybe it is a chipped edge you notice in photos. A small gap. Or a tooth whose color does not match the rest of your smile.
You do not have to know which treatment you need before you come in. Start with what you would like to change.
Dr. Pore's connection to Lumineers is personal: he completed a two-day hands-on course with its inventor, Dr. Robert Ibsen, at his Santa Maria studio. Dr. Ibsen himself demonstrated on live patients. He is personally certified by Dr. Ibsen and uses the lab that created Lumineers. He also provides your veneer care himself, right here at Pore Dental.
We are an independent family practice, not a corporate dental chain. Your questions and your care stay with the same dentist, from the first conversation through treatment.
Thank you for considering us for something so personal. We want you to feel heard and comfortable asking questions!
What veneers can change
Veneers are thin coverings bonded to the front of teeth. They can improve the appearance of certain chips, stains, small gaps and uneven shapes. Dr. Pore can discuss Lumineers and whether they are appropriate for your teeth.
Your bite, dental health and goals all matter. If another treatment is a better fit, Dr. Pore will explain it.
A preview. Temporaries. Typically two visits.
Your veneer journey includes a preview and temporary veneers. Treatment typically takes two visits, though your own plan may differ. These four steps describe the process, not four separate appointments.

Review your smile and written plan
See a preview and discuss the proposed appearance. Understand any tooth preparation, your exact fee and the expected visits before deciding to begin.
Prepare your teeth and wear temporaries
Temporary veneers are part of the process while your final veneers are being made. Dr. Pore will explain the preparation needed for your teeth and how to care for your temporaries.
Place your veneers and plan their care
Dr. Pore checks the fit, appearance and bite as your final veneers are placed. You will receive guidance on caring for them and when to contact our office.
Honest answers about cost
Fair, competitive pricing - and you'll see your exact fee in writing before anything starts. No surprises, ever.
Your veneer consultation is free. Your treatment fee depends on your plan, including how many teeth are involved and whether other dental care is needed first. You will receive an itemized written estimate before treatment begins.
Cosmetic veneers may not be covered by insurance. Our team can help check your benefits rather than assume coverage.
We accept all major credit cards and offer CareCredit financing. Patients without insurance can ask about financing with low monthly payments. Financing is subject to approval and the provider's terms.
Already have an estimate? We offer free second opinions and price matching. Contact our office to discuss your treatment plan and the details.
Are veneers right for you?
Veneers may be worth considering for chipped edges, discoloration, small gaps or unevenly shaped teeth. Healthy teeth and gums come first. Decay or gum disease needs attention before cosmetic treatment.
Grinding, clenching and the way your teeth meet can affect whether veneers are a good choice. Preparation also matters: when enamel is removed, that change cannot be undone. Veneers can chip, loosen or wear over time and may need repair or replacement.
Ask Dr. Pore what preparation your teeth would need. We do not assume every patient is suitable for a no-prep approach.
Questions are always welcome
Is the veneer consultation free?+
Yes! Start with a free veneer consultation to discuss your smile and your options with Dr. Pore.
Do you offer Lumineers?+
Dr. Pore learned Lumineers in a hands-on course with its inventor, Dr. Robert Ibsen, at his Santa Maria studio. Dr. Ibsen himself demonstrated on live patients. He uses the lab that created Lumineers. Ask about Lumineers at your consultation so you can discuss whether they fit your teeth and your goals.
How many visits will I need?+
Veneer treatment typically takes two visits, with a preview and temporary veneers as part of the process. Dr. Pore will explain the sequence and timing for your individual plan.
Will my teeth need preparation?+
That depends on your teeth and the proposed treatment. Dr. Pore will explain any enamel removal before you decide. Enamel that has been removed does not grow back.
Do veneers last forever?+
Veneers can last for many years, but may need repair or replacement. Daily care, your bite and habits such as grinding affect how they hold up. Keep brushing, cleaning between your teeth and attending dental visits.
Will treatment be uncomfortable?+
It is understandable to feel nervous. Tell Dr. Pore what worries you so you can discuss the steps and your comfort needs. Sensitivity can occur after preparation or placement; contact our office if you have concerns.
Does insurance cover veneers?+
Cosmetic veneers may not be covered. Our team can help check your benefits and explain your written estimate and payment options.
